Keratosis Pilaris

Keratosis pilaris is a common condition, particularly among children and adolescents. Often referred to as "chicken skin" it appears as small, rough red or tan bumps, usually on the upper arms and thighs, although it can appear other places on the body. It tends to be hereditary and more common in people with dry skin. The condition is harmless and is usually outgrown. As with any keratosis, it is caused by the growth of keratin on the skin. In keratosis pilaris, the keratin accumulates around the hair follicle, trapping it, thus bringing about the condition. Corium 21 aloe healing cream is very effective in treating keratosis pilaris.
