The aloe plant requires an average temperature of no less than 50 degrees fahrenheit. It can survive up to 104 degrees fahrenheit. It requires full sunlight, although an excess of sunlight can cause the leaves to turn brown. It needs minimal water, since it is a succulent plant. The climate in Virginia, although extremely varied, is too cold in the winters to grow aloe outdoors. Your indoor plant, however, will benefit from spending time outdoors. Keep it potted, but move it to a sunny outdoor location when the temperatures indicate. |
