Growing Aloe Vera in New Mexico

The aloe plant requires an average temperature of no less than 50 degrees fahrenheit. It can survive up to 104 degrees fahrenheit. It requires full sunlight, although an excess of sunlight can cause the leaves to turn brown. It needs minimal water, since it is a succulent plant.

The southern and central regions of New Mexico have an ideal climate for growing aloe vera, and the plant grows wild there in many places. Unless you live in the northern region, you should be able to grow the plant outdoors. Be aware of thunderstorms and protect your plant from getting too much water.
